Formula One world champion Jenson Button could be spending the close season looking for work as rumours abound that his team are looking to out him.
The British driver's current team, Brawn GP, has been taken over by rival manufacturer Mercedes. His wage demands are thought to be too high for the German company, which means a change of teams seems to be the only option for Button.
His most likely destination will be a move to McLaren, which would see him accompany former champion and fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton.
The Guardian reported yesterday (November 16th 2009) that Button has already agreed a three-year deal to take him to McLaren, which would net him wages of £6 million (C$10.64 million) a year.
After being given a tour of the team's factory on November 13th, a source at the manufacturer told the newspaper: "I think Jenson liked what he saw and they liked him too."
If the reports are true then it will mark the fourth move of Button's career in the sport. Most recently, he swapped his drive at BAR Racing at the end of the 2005 to switch to Honda.
