Jeff Gross has taken control of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Montreal Main Event after a stellar performance on Day 2 of the prestigious tournament yesterday (November 25th).

It proved to be a frenetic day's play at the famous Playground Poker Club, as more than 300 players crashed out of the event, leaving just 45 players to enter Day 3.

Despite so many people exiting the tables, any of those who finished higher than 118th place would have secured a payout.

Gross is currently sitting pretty with 2.422 million chips, with the likes of Mike McDonald, Christian Harder and Canadian poker star Gavin Smith also doing well. The leader of Day 1a, Patrick Lelievre, is still going well as he sits in sixth place with 1.401 million chips.

Unsurprisingly, one of the biggest plays of the day involved Gross, with the star cleaning out Josh Kimmel as his Ace-Queen held up against Kimmel's Ace-Jack.
