Mike Watson has raced into the lead of the HKD$100,000 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) Main Event after 15 levels of play.
A total of 184 players entered the 2012 tournament, held at the Grand Waldo Hotel in Macau, but just 30 players remain on Day 3.
With the blinds now at 1,500 and 3,000 chips, Canadian poker ace Watson is leading the field with a total of 470,000 chips.
He is closely followed by Michael Kanaan with 442,000 chips, while Xing Zhou, Andrew Gaw and Raiden Kan are all sitting comfortably in the top five.
The positions of the leading pack have changed rapidly throughout the day, with Gaw at one point sitting with the tallest stack before Watson doubled up after he hit triple 7s to nearly clean out Rahul Byrraju.
Defending champion Randy Lew, who started the day with a small stack, crashed out of the competition on Day 2 after losing a showdown with Timothy Finne.
