If you want a fun night with friends that does not involve spending too much money, why not try holding a poker evening?

You can get the fun of gambling but stay safe in the knowledge that it will all be in good fun and with as high or as low stakes as you like.

Play for serious money if you like, or be cautious with pennies or sweets.

Make sure you have poker chips and two decks of cards to play, as well as a suitable surface to act as a poker table.

Should many people turn up, consider having several tables, each with two decks and enough chips.

If you are playing with real money, work out a set amount to buy in and make sure your friends are all aware of this when you invite them.

Do not set it prohibitively high - the purpose is to have fun.

Keep the dealer distinctive, either with a dealer button or some other conspicuous addition, such as a flamboyant hat or waistcoat.
