Online Poker Player Leads In Copenhagen

Fri, 02/19/2010 - 19:05 — Stuart Thomas

The European Poker Tour Copenhagen event is currently being led by Hungarian Csaba Toth.

An online poker qualifier is currently ruling the roost over the seasoned pros at the European Poker Tour (EPT) event in Copenhagen.

During day two of the poker tournament, Hungary's Csaba Toth stormed into the lead and finished the day's play sitting on a stack of more than 560,000 in chips - putting him more than 150,000 ahead of his nearest rivals, Fabian Gentile of Belgium and Stig Rossen, who hails from Denmark.

Toth is likely to be feeling confident following a strong day's play, but he may not feel quite so content when he looks over his shoulder and sees some of the big names in the world of poker who are waiting to topple him from his currently dominant position.

Among them is local favourite Peter Eastgate, who became the youngest player in history to win the World Series of Poker in 2008 at the age of 22, a move which netted him $9,152,416 (C$9,595,419).

Other potential threats to Toth's lead include the likes of Annette Obrestad, Jens Kyllonen and Roberto Romanello, who will all be looking to overtake the Hungarian online poker player in the coming days.
