Online poker use in Canada could be set to keep growing after a report said that hundreds of internet poker players are looking to move from Las Vegas.
According to tightpoker.com, the shutdown of online poker websites in April this year - known as Black Friday - has led more people to look elsewhere to continue their careers.
Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica are thought to be the most popular destinations for online poker players.
Pokerati.com editor Dan Michalski told the news provider that for some people, online poker is all they have got.
"Guys in their 20s who were making from $30,000 to $80,000 or more online … what other life skills do they really have? A lot of people are really lost and confused right now," he explained.
Tony Dunst, a US poker player, told vegasinc.com yesterday (August 4th) that it would be "financially stupid" for online poker players not to move elsewhere.
