When playing Omaha, a player must use two and only two of their four "Pocket Cards" combined with three and only three "Community Boardcards", to make up their hand. One of the most common mistakes made when playing Omaha is for a player to misread the hand on the assumption that you can use more cards from either the board or your pocket. Pacific Poker offers an extensive game history facility so players can review any hands played. This is situated in the lobby of the software.

All three game types are more or less the same, the only difference being that each has its own distinct rules on the amounts you can bet at each time. See below for a break down of how each works:
Fixed Limit - In these tournaments, members must follow a specific betting pattern and can only ever raise or bet a set amount, that being the table limit at the time. Along with this there can only be four distinct bets or raises per betting round. These are the initial bet, a raise, a re-raise and finally a cap.
Pot Limit - Pot Limit tournaments are different as the only restriction in place is that a) the members meet the minimum bet and b) the maximum they can bet or raise is the amount in the active pot, plus all current bets, plus the amount that the player needs to call at that time.
No Limit - The most popular type of Texas Hold'em game, known amongst poker players as the Cadillac of poker. Here members can bet as much as they like in a bid to either build up a pot for a big win, or to bully or bluff others out of the pot.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
Each of the three games differs greatly from one another and requires a different kind of game play and mentality. For a detailed description of each of the games we offer, click here.

The minimum you can buy into a ring table for is 10 times the lower limit of the table and the maximum is 100 times the upper limit. So on a $1/$2, the minimum buy in is $10 whilst the maximum is $200. Therefore the minimum buy in Pacific Poker offers is 50c on a 5c/10c table and the maximum $2000 on a $10/$20 table (This does not include limit tables). In limit games you can sit down with a minimum of 10 times the small blind and there is no maximum on how much you sit down with.

Blinds are predefined bets which are contributed to the pot in order to instigate the betting. These are split into a big blind (minimum bet at the table) and a small blind (half the big blind) and paid by the two players directly to the left of the dealer. Blinds are used in both Omaha and Hold'em.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
If you are in the two seats to the left of the dealer you will be prompted to pay a blind. Also when you initially sit down at a table or have been sitting out you will be given the choice of waiting for the blind to come round before playing or posting the equivalent of the big blind to participate.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
When playing 7 card stud, each player wishing to take part in the hand places an ante (opening Bet) into the pot prior to the initial cards being dealt. Similarly to blinds, these bets are used to instigate betting in a game of stud poker or "seed the pot" as it is often called.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
If for any reason you decide you do not wish to participate in a hand, you can choose to sit out the next hand. This is done by putting a tick in the "Sit out next hand" box in the bottom left of the table screen.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
If you are sitting out and the blinds pass your seat you will not be forced to contribute. However, when you return to the table you will be prompted to contribute either a big blind or wait till the blinds return to your seat before playing.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
If you are sat out for longer than it takes for the dealer button to make two rotations of the table you will automatically forfeit your seat at the table.

When you play a hand at a ring table and the pot has reached a set amount, we will take a small percentage of that pot as a rake. We will never rake a hand prior to the flop coming down, we do not rake uncalled bets and the maximum we take out of any pot is $4 even if the pot is for thousands.
Pacific Poker operates a complex system to calculate a fair percentage of the pot to rake. This system takes into account the amount of players at the table, the amount of money in the pot, type of game and table stakes. For a full breakdown of our rake structure please click here.
If you have an additional question about this subject, please click here to contact us.
We offer 6 seat and 10 seat tables in Texas Hold'em, 9 seat and 10 seat tables in Omaha and 8 seat tables in 7 Card Stud.

These statistics indicate the level of action on a table. Avg Pot indicates the average size of the pots on the table; Plrs/Flop indicates the average number of players still in the hand at the flop. These plus the Hnd/Hr that indicates the number of hands being played per hour are usually a good indication of the looseness of the table, looser tables being generally more profitable.

Turbo and Nitro tables have shorter decision times than the normal 18 seconds. On a Nitro table you have 14 second decision time and on a Turbo table you have 10 seconds. This makes the action faster and the games more intense.

The ghost card feature allows you to see the hand you have just folded. This allows you to judge if your fold was indeed a good one and see what the outcome of your hand would have been had you stayed in. Once you fold your hand, your cards will fade slightly and you will see the words folded through the middle. This is especially helpful when you are playing multiple tables to keep track of the cards you have folded.

While rare, the possibility of a Server crash exists at every Internet Website and Internet application. In the extremely unlikely event of such case, at Pacific Poker, all Poker hands in progress are automatically cancelled from the point at which the Server crashed and Members were disconnected. A Member who is disconnected in the middle of a hand due to a Server crash will be automatically refunded the amount of their Chips, both in and out of play, at the table. This amount will be returned to their Pacific Poker Bankroll.
In the event that a Poker Tournament is cancelled, while in progress, the remaining prize pool will be split evenly between the remaining Members, regardless of their present chip count.
