How To Use The Martingale System For Online Roulette

A guide to using one of the most popular and well-known roulette strategies

It is easy to pick up the basics of online roulette, but those of you with ambitions of becoming more advanced players, there are various strategies you can follow.

These can improve your chances when trying to beat the online casino and hit the jackpot.

One of the most popular approaches is to use the Martingale Betting System, which has been around for years.

This involves the roulette player placing a bet on any even money slot. So, for example, you might put your money on red or black, odd or even, or 1-18 and 19-36.

If you lose, you double your bet and if you win, you go back to your original bet.

Each time you lose, you continue to double the bet, which means you can quickly rack up a large stake. Caution is therefore advisable.

It may also be best to start on a roulette table with a low minimum wager as this will prevent your bets spiralling out of control.

For example, if you go for online roulette which requires just a $1 investment to start playing, then after five losses you will be betting $32. On a $5 table, this would be $160.

The advantage of playing this strategy is that it means you can maintain a methodical approach to roulette. It works on the theory that you will win at some point and if you have doubled up your wager then this will cover any losses.

However, if you are playing American roulette, where there is 00 as well as 0, then the bet is not a pure even money wager. You should therefore opt for European roulette if possible.

Also, the bets escalate very quickly and you can soon hit the table limit. Online roulette players are advised to give themselves a maximum spend and stop playing when they reach this.

While it might seem like a good strategy in theory, it has its pitfalls so you should weigh up whether you can afford to use this approach, perhaps using free roulette to test it out.
