Canadians who enjoy playing games such as blackjack may have to visit online casinos to take part in their favorite hobby as an Ontarian venue could be in danger of shutting down.
Caesars Windsor is making job cuts in an attempt to make itself more profitable.
Holly Ward, the casino's spokeswoman, said declining revenues are to blame for the venue having to lay staff off.
As well as cutting jobs, the casino is amending its schedule, with the valet service no longer running throughout the night.
The cashier cage on the second floor of the casino will also be closed down in an attempt to cut costs.
This comes after a chain of Canadian casinos decided to go green to try and save money on its energy bills.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming's five casinos across the country have replaced their lighting with more energy-efficient bulbs.
Offices at the venues will also cut down further on the amount of printing they do, with tickets at the casinos reduced in size to save paper.
Senior manager of Bet on Green Alex Hocevar told the Sault Star that paper consumption was down 15 per cent year-on-year at the casino.
