Staring at slots players is considered bad form, one expert has explained

Casino fans across North America have been offered some advice with regard to casino etiquette.

In response to alter to Casino City Times, the news provider's Gaming Guru John Robinson confirmed that staring at slots player while they play is considered bad form.

The expert explained that the most likely reason for a patron to stare at others is to monitor the progress of the machines' payout rates.

While this is a sensible approach for those looking to play the game next, it is generally unacceptable.

Mr Robinson also claimed that as the practice also sees players smoking in non-smoking zones it can be particularly irksome for those sat at the machines.

"Most of the time when this happens, the 'starer' wants to play the 'staree's' machine - especially if the machine has a high progressive or is one of the few that has a banked bonus and the bonus is high.

"We call those 'starers' jackpot vultures. Even worse than staring, though, is smoking in the non-smoking section. There is no smoking in the non-smoking section, period. We go to the non-smoking section because we don't want to be exposed to smoke."
