Playtime Gaming has signalled its intention to install more bingo machines at its gambling facility in Abbotsford.
The company, which is located on Peardonville Road, has said that it can not meet the demand for its bingo machines.
However, currently it is restricted to just 125 slots machines and has asked for permission to extend this number, reports BCLocalNews.com.
Abbotsford mayor George Peary said the local council should give serious consideration to allowing Playtime Gaming to have more slot and bingo machines on its premises.
He said: "They want to expand. I'm a bit more open-minded than some. If they can't meet the demand, why not add more slots? Why force people to go elsewhere?"
If visitors to Playtime Gaming are unable to get their bingo fix as all the machines are being used, they may be forced back into their own homes to play online bingo instead.
The council is to meet again to consider the expansion proposals before giving Playtime Gaming its decision.
If it is approved, more than 100 new machines could be housed at the gambling facility.
This comes after Steve Hancock, the general manager at New Brunswick's recently opened casino, apologized to French speaking visitors to the venue who found they were unable to take part in some of the table games as the staff are not all bilingual.
