A bingo player has won a car after playing the game for the very first time

Canadian bingo players who have just taken up the game could be inspired by a good luck story from across the Atlantic.

Anita Barzey, a 21-year-old student from London, decided to have a go at playing the numbers game for the very first time during the summer.

She spent £10 and eventually won £50 in cash, at which point she decided to quit while she was ahead.

However, Ms Barzey received a call several days later informing her that she actually ended up winning a brand new car as well.

"I couldn't believe it," she told the East London Advertiser.

"All my mates are playing bingo now as they want one too."

Ms Barzey added that she cannot believe her good luck and that this episode has given her "real faith" in winning.

"I'll definitely enter more of this sort of thing," she commented.

Online bingo websites could give her plenty of opportunities to enter the fray and potentially win more big prizes.

According to the UK Gambling Commission, a growing number of people in Britain are choosing to desert live bingo halls and play the numbers game on the internet.
