888 Player at the feature table

888 Regular 444wolf is currently sitting at the feature table along with Jamie Gold and Phil Laak.

Should be explosive!

Always an Ace

Jack Hinchey gets into a bit of a raising war preflop with an opponent, as the hand is 3 bet with the blinds at 400/800.

The flop comes A26 and the other player ships in his remaining 6000 chips. The pot at 22k, Jack makes the call with his Kings. Unfortunately his opponent turns over the ace and Jack is unable to catch a third king, with a 28k pot slipping through his fingers.

He is still in good spirits, and even though he has just taken it a hit, it seems that the rest of the table are all reeling from bad beats. This will certainly help to get right back on track.

Juha Helppi has just joined the table on a short stack

Papajac Starts Day 2 amongst the Leaders

Papajac played as solid of day 1 as any player can hope for, only showing down 6 hands all day.

With one chip set back late stages where his AK ran into a short stacks AA for a 7k loss, he managed to keep his composure and not let it rattle his strategy.

With the end of the day approaching, Jack picked up AT and open raised from middle position. A short stack made a last-ditch effort push. Jack called the small raise and was off to the races against the opponents 99.

With the flop of KQ4, Jack picked up 10 outs to take the lead. The turn brought another K, no help to Jack. The river came a soul crushing Queen, as the 99 two pair was counterfeited, and Jack's Ace high takes the pot.

Jack ended the day with 45 000 chips and in a solid 24th starting position with 287 still left to play.

888 Qualifier Bokinjo is also still alive and doing very well as he tells me he is on approximately 40 000 chips, so he should be nipping at Jack's heels.

Some big names are still alive as well, Phil Laak is in the top 10, Jamie Gold has a healthy stack, Kara Scott, Neil Channing, Dave Colclough and Barny Boatman all still have a chance to take home the trophy.

Papajac Showing them who's Boss!

Papajac is well over 35 000 in chips right now. He is likely even closing in on 40 000 putting him close to the chip leaders at the moment.

Our 888 qualifier Bokinjo is also hanging in with an above average stack that is bordering on 20 000.

Some big names are still in as well, Jamie Gold has a large stack, Dan Harrington is nursing a below average stack, and last years winner Neil Channing is enjoying a massage at the table while way above average.

Average stack is 17 000 with 415 players remaining in the second last level of the day.

More Casualties

Ben "Cheesies" Martin has had a rough day since dinner break, not finding anything worth playing and not getting any breaks from the other guys at his table.

Finally he gets the break he's been looking for as he looks down and finds AA.

He manages to get it in preflop against his opponent's 99.

Unfortunately a 9 comes on the flop.

Ben needs to hit an Ace on the turn or river to get back ahead and stay alive. The turn bricks, and the river comes with the overkill 4th 9. As Ben is eliminated and his opponent rakes the pot with quad 9s.

L67C hits the wall

After another valiant run on a short stack, David Docherty raises with JJ. He is reraised, but decides that hsi stack his stack is too short to fold away the dreaded Jacks and makes the call for his tourney life. His opponent turns over Kings and David is unable to catch one of the dirty Jacks he needs to stay alive.

The Dinner Switch

The players have switched dinner breaks.

David Docherty reaches the break at 4800
888 qualifier Bokinjo is on a modest ~12k stack
and Papajac is well above 25k now after making a huge call just before the break.

A few players limp and Jack completes in small blind with 78 offsuit. The flop comes J84 and Jack checks. It checks around to the aggressive button player who bets 900. Jack calls the bet and the rest fold.

The turn is another 4, Jack checks and once again the player bets, this time 1500 and Jack makes the call.

The river is a 9, and Jack checks for a third time. His opponent bets 3500 into the pot. While Jack is pondering the call, the player makes a comment "it's only 3500, not too much to call" and Jack can't call fast enough.

Jack tables his middle pair of 8s and wins the huge pot.
